>Letter 18: To a Barefoot Boy>Your condition is rather delicate, and it’s because, I am sure, your sandal pinches; new leather, you know, is quite likely to cut into flesh that is tender. That is why Asclepius readily heals wounds received in war and hunting and all such accidents, but neglects these others because of the voluntariness of the action—as due to indiscretion rather than to a god’s capricious malevolence. Why then don’t you walk barefoot? What grudge have you against the earth? Slippers and sandals and top-boots and shoes are for the wearing of invalids or the aged. Philoctetes, at any rate, is pictured in such protective garb—because he was lame and ill. But the philosopher from Sinope and the Theban Crates and Ajax and Achilles are pictured as wearing no shoes, and Jason as wearing but one. For the story goes that, when Jason was crossing the Anaurus River, one boot was caught by the mud and held fast under the stream, and so he had one bare foot—not that he deliberately chose to have, but that chance taught him what was best; and he went his way the victim of a salutary robbery. Let nothing come between the earth and your bare foot. Fear not, the dust will welcome your tread as it would welcome grass, and we shall all kiss your footprints. Ο perfect lines of feet most dearly loved! Ο flowers new and strange! Ο plants sprung from earth! Ο kiss left lying on the ground!

What could ever make somebody find male feet attractive...I'm not even into women's feet but at least they are sort of nice aesthetically, but male ones? Literally why.
>>24751721It's a prepubescent boy's feet and they are gay pedophiles, what is confusing about that?
>>24751731I suspect the poster you are responding to was trying to reinforce his heterosexuality with his astonishment at someone finding a boy's feet beautiful. Personally, I don't believe him.
>>24751731>it's a feetthanks for the input, rajneesh
>>24751721Male feet can be quite pretty
>>24751744it's a faggot
>To a Woman: Do not ever wear shoes, or conceal your ankles with false and deceptive skins, whose beauty, which consists in their dye, is illusory. For if you wear white, you obscure the whiteness of your feet (since like in the midst of like does not show); and if you wear the colour of larkspur, you offend the eye by the darkness of the shade; and if crimson, you cause fright, as if blood were flowing somewhere in the shoe. I wish that all the rest of you were visible; and you would actually possess far more power, exposing your whole body to the spectators’ eager pursuit. Well, be a bit economical of other features, if you will, and do not begrudge them protection or such coverings as are indispensable; but leave your feet at least bare like your neck, your cheeks, your locks, like your nose and eyes. To be sure, wherever nature has erred, the damage requires clever treatment, in order that art may conceal the defect; but where beauty suffices for its own display, remedial measures are superfluous. Be self-reliant and trust to your feet! These even fire will spare, these even the sea; and if you wish to cross a river, the river will stay its course, and if you wish to scale crags, you will seem to yourself to be treading on meadows. Thus Thetis was called “silver-footed” by the poet who had exact knowledge of all of beauty’s highest forms; thus Aphroditê too, as she rises from the sea, is depicted by the painters; thus too the daughters of Leucippus. Keep your feet in readiness for those who fain would kiss them; and wear no bonds, even of gold.Philostratus, Letter 36
Why is antiquity all footfaggotry and ass rape
>>24751786better times
>>24751786The footfaggotry thing is very bizarre because it's prevalent in most western culture, even in extremely niche ancient poetry. The ancient Finns called their goddess of love the lady of the stockings, and the SKVR has bizarre foot poetry. It's just too weird.
>>24751817Makes sense. Feet are just awesome. They're the most distinctly human part of the body.
>>24751817I once heard somebody say that you can measure the development of a civilization by how highly they think of women's feet, and while it sounds sort of like fetish shit, there might be something to it. Or at least it's probably not coincidental that the two furthest developed civilizations, China and the West, have both always been into feet a lot.
>>24751832>>24751839I have my own theories, but when you encounter a treasure horde of knowledge, there is such an intense temptation to keep it secret and enjoy it by oneself. I am greedy. I love reading SO MUCH! HOLY SHIT!
>>24751786It's also funny to note that contrary to modern stereotypes medieval poetry from the middle east is incredibly gay while western poetry from the same period on the other hand almost completely lacks homoeroticism of any kind, it's straight as fuck.
>>24751786I'm reading Ovid's Metamorphosis right now and while I appreciate it in a lot of ways, every other part is just Jove raping the shit out of someone and Juno punishing them for itIs the problem of modern society just that we've abandoned rape? Women were a mistake. Rape should be taught in schools prior to maths or language.
>>24751842I know that ambiguous feeling! Thank you for sharing some breadcrumbs with us today anon...>>24751845It's a shame so much of that faggy Arabic poetry is still untranslated.
>>24751721>I'm not into>Sort of niceThere is nothing pleasing about feet at all.
>>24751872Kike
>>24751872They are a part of women's bodies, so of course they are nice. Just not in a sexual way. Like a woman's neck can be incredibly erotic but you wouldn't ever want to fuck a woman's neck, right. Feet are the same, they are aesthetically nice and you probably wouldn't mind getting to touch a nice pair, but they are not exactly in the same league as a pair of tits, the ass, or her face.
>>24751879>you wouldn't ever want to fuck a woman's neck, right. Feet are the sameFootjobs feel divine though
>>24751886Anything the feet can do, the hands or the mouth can do twice as well.
>>24751895There's more power in the legs. And the skin is softer and more supple. That being said, I think it's more fun to do things to feet themselves, like tickle them or whip them.
>>24751786if youre not dedicated to Jesus Christ the God of charity, who are you dedicated to? the alternative isnt sex because if youre married and have sex with your wife then youre satisfied and dont have to think about sex anymore. no, the only way to obsess about sex is to seek out sex acts that are unsatisfying
>>24751935> im going to buy a whore and whip her feetsick transit, gloria mundi
>>24751949>sick transitiPhone autocorrect or just ESL?
>>24751935...whip them? You do you, buddy.I think it's pretty cool how varied the shapes and textures of the feet are. The upper part of the foot is flat and firm, the heel is round and relatively firm but with a bit of give to it, the achilles tendon is almost the same but obviously not the same shape, the middle and frontal parts of the sole are pretty soft, wide, and undulating on the other hand, and the undersides of the toes have that fun firm but cushioned texture to them that the fingers do on the hands.
>>24751956it is a sick transit man what are you talking about
>>24751964You've articulated what makes them so aesthetically interesting very well anon. That complexity and variation (of texture as well as shape) is so rich and appealing to me. Particularly how they combine grace and cuteness (ankles are finely sculpted + arches curve pleasantly, while toes are round and adorable). Also viz. whipping - it's not an antagonistic thing so much as I think it's just the fact that feet are so sensitive. Like I vividly remember walking on hot surfaces and pebbles as a kid. But erotic tickling is more pleasant
>>24751990It sounds pretty weird to say but the tactile aspect of eroticism has been oddly neglected nowadays. The texture of hair, the way the hardness of the forehead slopes and curves into the nose and finishes on the fleshy cartilageless part of its tip, the softness of the lips and the cheeks being framed by the jaw, and the jaw itself being enthroned on the soft, muscular and warm neck, the collarbones and the shoulders, the softness of the breasts and the firm but soft texture of the stomach, the hips, the back, the thighs...maybe it's because of porn concentrating everything on the visuals that we don't really think of how the human body feels to the touch nowadays when we think of sex.
>>24752025That's a good observation actually anon. I completely agree. fuck. The feel of soft warm hands clasped in my own always melts me. And I still vividly remember the feeling of another boy at a sleepover propping his stocking feet against my back while he was reading - the weird mixture of firmness, and softness, and warmth. And thighs and sides are so graspable. And, yes, the mixture of hard and bony and soft and squishy and all the variations inbetween. Cold and hot. Skin and membrane and keratin. Fat and cartilage and bone. Based. A real awesome paean to the human form
>>24752025appearance is a proxy for genotype and everyone knows deep down inside that the purpose of sex is to form a family. the tactile sensation of cuddling is easy to get but a good wife is worth more than rubies were worth before the 20th century
>>24752035Eww...I was thinking of women when I described what I meant. Guess you weren't. Though I suppose this thread did start out with gay erotica from ancient greece, so I should have known better.
>>24752051just take enough adhd meds so the tactile sensation becomes overwhelming and you can forget that youre playing pretend with some other boys like when you were 8 and what youre pretending is to have sex
>>24752051No need to be like that anon. I believe the heterosexual and the homosexual can coexist peacefully.
>>24752060h. sapiens can never coexist with h. sexualis, because h. sexualis is an inquiline social parasite and eventually destroys h. sapiens colonies with filth
>>24752067
>>24752070Homosexuality destroyed the Athenian culture and Plato was right.
>>24752091>Homosexuality destroyed the Athenian culture How did it do that
>>24752051For the record, it's not even the homosexuality that really crossed the line for me, but the pederasty. Why do gay dudes gotta be like this? Why can't you just be into other adult men?>inb4 that image with the guy who goes "I entered a thread full of things I don't like and now I'm mad. How could this be happening to me?"
>>24752100Everyone is into young people.
>>24752100>Why can't you just be into other adult men?I am, faggot. You wouldn't react like that if it was some memory of Stacy
>>24752094Any analysis of homosexuality and licentiousness in an ancient society and how it contributes to or signals the decay of the society will be some form of historcisim prey to the bickering and pseudointellectualism of all historicism. Plato says it best, though:>But how can we take precautions against the unnatural loves of either sex, from which innumerable evils have come upon individuals and cities? How shall we devise a remedy and way of escape out of so great a danger? Truly, Cleinias, here is a difficulty. In many ways Crete and Lacedaemon furnish a great help to those who make peculiar laws; but in the matter of love, as we are alone, I must confess that they are quite against us.I'll think about writing up a refutation of the quote in this >>24752070 image. I have done so before and it is in the archives; Plato lists the speeches from the other guests in a successive order of homosexuality, ending with the pure comedy of Aristophanes that depicts homosexuality as natural and essential to the being. It ends with Socrates' speech, who is the first and only guest to extol the virtues of heterosexuality, before ending with him rejecting a homosexual union with Alcibiades. The intent of the dialogue is by no means homosexuality, especially considering the explicit condemnations of homosexuality in Plato's works.>Either men may learn to abstain wholly from any loves, natural or unnatural, except of their wedded wives; or, at least, they may give up unnatural loves; or, if detected, they shall be punished with loss of citizenship, as aliens from the state in their morals.
>>24752124Various right-wing writers in the early 20th century already noted that homosexuality was rife when Greece culture was in its formative stages and at its apogee, while anti-homosexual sentiment was triumphant during its periods of decline. Plato was a decadent. He promoted all kinds of fashionably intellectual nonsense: like feminism, the collective rearing of children, the idea that children shouldn’t know the identities of their fathers, the censorship of poetry, of Homer. His criticism of Athenian institutions and social mores — his need to inject his intellectualised neurosis into every facet of Greek life, to relentless criticise every healthy feeling that existed — helped sap the vital instincts out of Greek society.
>>24752110a 40 year old whore can wear pigtails lick a lollipop and men can pretend shes that 16 year old girl from high school who was interested. once a twink hits 25 thats twink death and he isnt interesting any more, thats why nick fuentes is scrambling to reinvent himself as a neocon
>>24752154then why do I keep trying to hook up with guys in their 30s and 40s meanwhile my straight friends refuse to date girls the same age as them because they're "walled" and marry chicks who are 5+ years younger
I just wanted to make a fun thread about the Greeks stop talking about Jews and shit
>>24752170I wonder what it feels like to look at a hot lady and not feel any lust or attraction whatsoever. From what I understand even straight women are turned on by other women, so it's really just gay men who do not feel anything at all.
>>24752170consider that there are more men 20-50 than there are women 20-30. theres a man out there desperate enough to marry a 40 year old woman, hes probably divorce raped and paying mockingly named child support on a baby hes prohibited from seeing. but youre not getting a top shelf man because those are only going to marry 20 somethings
>>24752170Because zoomers secretly crave big millennial cock, that's why they act so tsundere on 4chan
>>24752191I find some women cute. I've even had crushes on them. Usually they're more masculine in build and personality though. Or if they're kind of nerdy/frumpish. But I am indifferent to 99% of them, especially those that are most conventionally attractive. I found this chick cute when I watched Little Witch Academia.Breasts do nothing for me. I don't understand what makes them so fascinating. I'd play with them though. They're nice and squishy
>>24752146Not only is this by no means at all a unanimous view, it's exactly the pseudointellectual babbling I described. I doubt you've gone much past youtube pop-philosophy and AI summaries. The presence of licentiousness in a society is not enough to make unqualified assertions like "rife," as you will note the absence of homosexuality in many earlier authors—Homer, Hesiod, Pindar, etc., and you will really only be able to construct an imaginative fantasy from misinterpretation and whatever offhand author your LLM recommends you quote. To start, the very fact that you have Pausanias' speech as the voice of Plato in the image should tell you something. Besides this, the very scant evidence of homosexuality in the history of Greece, even by Athenians, should be enough to refute.

>>24752207Homosexuality is certainly not absent in Pindar. It is also present in Theognis as well as most of the lyric poets from the Archaic era - Ibycus, Anacreon, Simonides, Sappho.>the very scant evidence of homosexuality in the history of GreeceIt might help to actually read them before posting.
