>Yeah so I just discovered the literature board on 4chan. They recommended me this
If you have more than 1 of these books in your Top 10 then you're ngmi.
>>24752625take Stoner off and replace it with Mogens and you got yourself a respectable list
>>24752625Holy shit is this bait or did /lit/ posters really vote on this?
>>24752658What would you replace? Give titles only. If you have to replace the whole thing, do so. Oherwise there's no point in talking about this.
>>24752625what a reddit list
>>24752625>1984>Hobbit>Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas>The Bible>Alice's Adventures In Wonderland>Fight ClubThese are the only books I've read on that list. I don't think Fear And Loathing deserves to be on there, it wasn't that great. Fight Club was good but probably doesn't deserve to be on there either. I think Brave New World should be on that list somewhere. Alice's Adventures In Wonderland is like a 9.9/10 and The Bible is a 10/10
>>24752687You know after my initial reaction I guess my problems are mostly with the order. Are number 1 and 2 all time really Infinite Jest and The Stranger? On the same list which puts Monte Cristo at 100? But for a list made from a poll of 138 people it's just a solid representation of acclaimed authors and their most well known works. It's missing the board character but I think that would need to be curated by a smaller group and also I wasn't very active here in 2014.
>>24752511Lurk more before you start posting. We have enough idiots here
>>24752715I've been here on and off long enough that my first /lit/ post could join the military
>>24752625I prefer the decade aggregate list
>>24752772
>>24752625I like how back in 2014 before the third world got connected to the Internetz we had reasonable rankings with IJ on #1 and the Bible way down in the 60s.Compare that to any of the more recent rankings and one can just assume that the White poster on this board is basically extinct.
>>24752772That's better than the 2024-2020 aggregate which somehow maintained Harry Potter and that Alan Moore novel.
>>24752710>It's missing the board characterlike what lol? /lit/'s tastes are the most aligned with the common consensus of any board
>>24752772i have 48/100 of those readas I lay dying is the worst one
>>24753282It's a good thing really. Niche picks that demonstrate "board character" (and there have been very many that have come and gone over the years) are merely passing fads, shitty memes, and irrelevant autismoid books.
>>24753295I'm on 65/100. I haven't been going out of my way to do it, but maybe I'll knock out another 4 or 5 before New Year's.
>>2475330565 is a good number. I'm certainly not interested in all of their subject matters but I'll hit most of them as I keep reading
>>24753295>>24753305What are the best ones you've read and why is it Alice's Adventures In Wonderland?
>>24752776>most pedos disguise themselves as philosophersleddit truke
>>24752625I really like this list
