According to my chinese friend this guy was apparently their equivalent of Tolkien. Do i want to read his work?
>>24756428>Just renamed Gondor to Condor Typical
obviously not based on that statement.
I think they meant that in the way how Tolkien's work is used as a template for fantasy. Jin Yong was the OG wuxia writer.
>>24756428I am familiar with him. I recommend watching a tv series for his Condor Trilogy works. They are loads of fun.For actual reading try Fox Volant. It is pretty quick and good. The ending in particular I thought well executed.Nothing at all like Tolkien though. No clue why they are compared.
>>24756428I read the whole thing. It's really damn good. It's not a trilogy though, there are only two books. The third one that people like to call part of the trilogy only makes vague references to the previous two, but he self-references a lot in pretty much every one of his works. The other stuff he wrote is also really good, like Smiling Proud Wanderer >>24757010>Nothing at all like Tolkien though. No clue why they are compared.Probably because>they're the definitive works of their respective fantasy genres>the size of the novels
>>24756428I don't remember any of this in Tolkien's work
>>24757099That’s why this is better
