Has /lit/ read this? If so, did you like it? It's very long and dry, but the pacing is pretty good, at times frenetic even.

I read the abridged version in Penguin Classics, good book
>>24762180>I read the abridged versionGet thee hence, hell-spawn.
Everything after the first generation dies is filler
> Everything after the first generation dies is fillerYou missed the point
>>24762086I love it.But most people should just read Yokoyama Mitsuteru‘s Sangokushi. You get 99% of the point.
>Romance of the Three Kingdoms>the empire is broken up into the three kingdoms only in the last 3/4 of the story
It would be better if the authors didn’t claim that the average battle was a million vs a million dudes. totally unbelievable. good characters tho.
>>24765250three empires* even, it's all a sham
>reread because why not>currently at Puyang's battle>Chen Cong has a great plan about trapping Cao Cao's army>Lu Bu literally goes "Nuh uh I have a better plan, what do you know about it?!" and leavesJesus christ
>>24765363I read it because of the DO NOT PURSUE LU BU memes and was very disappointed by what a jobber he was.
>>24765886Remember that it was ridden as shameless Han Shu propaganda. Ravages got it right when they explained that historians tried their utter most to make Lu Bu as pathetic and lame as possible and despite all this he is still known as the quintessential chinese uber chad
Nobody mentions the time Liu Bei cannibalizes that guy's wife lmoa.I feel like the book was meant for a grandpa like figure to read from every night for 10 year old boys to listen to.
