Most classics are classics because they break rules which often starts in the planning stages. That said, it's a common midwit take to think that simply ignoring conventions/planning and just winging things is a surefire way to make a masterpiece.It doesn't even make sense logically, like just because you plan something for an excessive amount of time doesn't mean that those meticulous/rigid/soulless elements that you are insinuating arise have to be there, you can see them arise in your planning and then go even further in the opposite direction than you ever would have without any planning. Basically you can learn how to follow the rules to learn how to break them even better than if you just never learned the rules in the first place.
