Sup, stackers? These threads are pushback against the stack threads that are just people showing off crap they bought that they'll never actually read. Post last week's stack, post this week's stack, and tell us what you read. I finished The Lost Languages and The Antiques Magpie since the last time I posted a stack thread. I felt reading a novel so I started reading David Gates' book Jernigan. I'm about halfway through and it's alright.
>>24771199I finished Gogo Monster and Jame Hillman's Soul's Code, I'm halfway done with Yukio Mishima but it's so short that I may just reread it before returning it. I borrowed a bunch of social media books but they seem outdated and focused on the aspects I don't seem to care for so I'm not committing to them just yet.
>>24771360Social media changes so quickly that any books about it are probably going to be out of date by the time they're published
>>24771199No offense OP, but this is kind of fruity, I just want to post a stack. IDK what I posted last, who cares, I have just been reading PKD short stories and Flaubert.Got these tonight at the bookstore. I have been searching so damn long to find The Tartar Steppe in a store, got it for $9. The Ellison was also $9. No, I am not going to read Finnegan's Wake, I just wanted it for the collection because it is rare and a HC and was cheap, fuck off OP.
>>24771199i recently bought me a kobo e-reader that i loaded up with hundreds of short classics <200 pages i fear for the future of stack threads
>>24771199Stack accountability threads always die because all the real niggas left this board. Bitch niggas rather engage b8
>>24771563>fuck off OP.lmao mad as fuck because you're expected to read and not just buy shit to show off
>>24771199I am one to read a lot of books at once. I have consistent routine so its not a big deal.>bodhidharma's zen teachingmain book, 30 minutes a day. It really short, includes the original chinese, will finish tomorrow. Need something new. I'll probably read two more Buddhist books before I finish my initial study of it and move one. Will probably be something Pure Land, or Tibetan Buddhism related. Also possibly something by Merton.>Invitation to a beheadingsecondary book, 15 minutes a day. I rarely read novels so its a good change of pace. I've been wanting to learn to appreciate the form. About half way through, fun so far. I'll try to read at least one more novel this year.>Das doppelte lottchenGerman book, 15 minutes every other day (swapping with my russian read). I'm 3 years into german learning. This is a reread. Noticeable improvement in comprehension from the first time i read it a year or so ago.>French Short storiesStarted french this year. One short story a day (about a page). French is quite easy to read once you know the basics, lots of cognates.>cвeт нeвeчepнийRussian,15 minutes every other day (swapping with my german read). Over 5 years into russian. Definately a difficult read, only about 20 pages in. Though theology/philosophy like this is easier to read than classic russian novels, because the vocabulary is very set.>psalmsread 2 a day>The apocryphal new testament15 minutes a day I read something christian scriptures related. This is just a collection of non-canonical texts. not nearly as big as it look, lots of irrelevant academic annotation.
Finnegans Wake isn't even a hard book. I call it Finnegans Piece of Cake because it's such an easy read.
