They more or less ceded everything to Amazon. A lot of you are too young to know this, but for a number of years from I want to say mid-90's to early 2000's, if you went to Borders website and tried to buy a book there, they would either urge you to come into a store or, if you pressed, they would send you to Amazon and literally state the site by name and I think even by link.

They probably got referral payments from Amazon for doing this, but it was such a loss. People started realizing they didn't have to bother with Borders at all and just went straight to Amazon after the first time or first few times.
