Sometimes I like to watch some youtubers talking about books, do you?
>>24778169Yea I've found lots of autists and experts on the spanish side of Youtube but I never found an english speaking oneAny recs?
>>24778173I watch Spanish ones too lol
>>24778169rare virgin vs chad meme that is actually used correctly even if its lame and gay
>>24778184Which ones? All right, I'll do an effort-post of the ones I like the most, since I like this topic: ADEH TV (and #ReporteMinoritario since they appear there too): The GOATs. Two literature university professors who talk about classics Ulises Astudillo: Chilean christian priest. BUT in some of his videos he goes full schizo and tries to predict when the apocalypsis will hit. He makes lots of drawing on a board trying to connect all the prophecies. Picrel is one example but I've seen like 6 different boards from him. CarlaCario: Cute and philosophypilledAinhoa Sagasti: Cute and 19th centurypilledOnly Books: Guy with a massive library Clásicos con J.A.: 30 to 40 years old woman who lives in the middle of nowhere who has somehow achieved a gigantic library of classic books from the western canon. His views are interesting, but she hasn't uploaded anything in 8 months. Sabio Pensante Epistemológico Gnoseológico: All right, the name of this one is kind of a meme. But he is charismatic. I'd be his friend.Teatroremas: She did fun summaries of greek tragedies but she hasn't uploaded in like 2 years. V de libros: He uploads videos about mainstream bro-books but some videos are still fun El castillo de los libros: Enjoyable to listen to from time to time yet I wouldn't compare him to the rest of the list. The only ones in english that I've enjoyed are "thug notes" which is a black thug talking about books in it's own dialect, and Cliffe Knechtle which is a guy rethorically debating about christianity in public
>>24778265excellent post anon
>>24778265How come when people made threads about Spanish lit you never see these posts but instead just a bunch of thirdworlders and manolos flinging shit at each other
>>24778293I'm personally not that well read in spanish lit, I enjoy more ancient/mythological lit and the western canon in general. I'm starting to tip my toes in spanish lit by reading the fundamentals of my country, though (Esteban Echeverría, Sarmiento, José Hernandez)
>>24778312dip my toes* my bad
While not about a singular book I did enjoy this vid on russian historiography https://youtu.be/w_bEpKBd07w?
>>24778184You have still not answered which ones do you like
I only watch Dross. Author of several books.
Bumpo
greetings from cumgI try to watch youtubers that actually critique the writing from a writers perspective, but those that actually understand the tropes exist because they are the 'best' and because they sell copies are the best youtubers. Terrible writing advice and that guy who made the toeborn video both seem to know what they're talking about and it's helped my writing more than any of sanderson's advice ever did, partly because I can see issues with pitfalls with books I've actually read and I can relate issues with books I've read to the issues they're describing in their critiques.Wish a youtuber existed for talking about shitty prose desu
Not really. Hearing people talk about things I'm familiar with is exasperating at best and enraging at worst, and hearing them talk about things I'm unfamiliar with feels totally meaningless.
>>24778169I watch Dr Scott Masson, who keeps relating literature to Christianity and Jordan Peterson and pronouns which sometimes gets him hate comments
