What does /lit/ think about Ernst Cassirer?
Since there are so many Kant-enjoyers out there, some of them must have heard of Cassirer.

I've only read Essay on Man. Found it agreeable. Yet such ideas are fairly commonplace now. Man as transformed by cultures and symbols. Felt no need to dive deeper. My interests in such topics are a touch more mystically informed, and I prefer more unusual and provocative philosophers who deal w same ideas.

I've read his biography on Kant and while it had some interesting material, it was possibly the dullest thing I've ever read -- and I've read a lot of Kant.
I've also read a bit about the famous Cassirer-Heidegger debate at Davos and would like to check out the book on it, Continental Divide. Can't say who comes out better, but I'm tempted to say Heidegger.
