Do you ever read a book and just know that the author wrote it with the intention of trying to win a literary prize? I just finished fifteen dogs and the dude spends so much time jerking off to Toronto and Canada in general you just know he's angling for a CBC prize. At least 1/4 of the lines in the book were "I recognize that place!" lines. I know the theme of the book is supposed to be "place" but it really feels a bit excessive.

>>24781508I'm dreadfully sorry anon but I must commit the cardinal sin of /lit/ and admit a black man wrote a good book.
>>24781509The cardinal sin on /lit/ is reading books at all.

I don't know jack shit about Toronto but I liked this book quite a bit. I would recommend and have done so to multiple people.
