Any books or novels that detail coming to terms with adulthood and maturity?
>>
No. Becoming an adult in your 20s is a modern phenomenon

Still recommend me some books in which characters have growth and development in their settings and societies

Self improvement /lit/ should be it's own board. Boring as hell, low literary value, not part of the culture.

The Recognitions?
Ulysses for sure.

Have you considered reading some memoirs?
Confessions by St. Augustine should do the trick.

Of Human Bondage, though it follows Philip throughout his childhood first and by the time he's in his 20s, he's pretty thoroughly an adult. Different time. But still a truly great novel.

I’ll be your age tomorrow though anon I was 17 yesterday and nearly 20 today. Only so much time to build my life and take advantage of youth

What’s the name of your novel anon?

>and take advantage of youth
Youth is a lie and overrated, because it is the time of least self awareness, least self and external control, and least openness. And therefore youth is when man is least Human.

Not to say that adulthood or even adults are actually that much different, its just that in my experience, the capacity to truly be self aware simply does not exist in youth, and that is the most essential capacity to be human.

Anyway regardless. Can only do what you can only do, cant you?

I suppose so, I think my rush into becoming comfortable with adulthood unironcally is my fear of devolving into permanent arrested development and remaining a 17 year old for the next decade like some 27 twitteroid
