The Autobiography Of Benjamin Franklin is a great book. I've read it a few times and it always inspires me to do better and get involved in my community. I really wish I had read it when I was like 13-14 years old.

And check out Project Gutenberg, I bet they have a lot of writing from that period. As fun as it is to read history, it is even better to read books from history.
