Most people don't have a lot of free time once they're done with school. I'm not saying zoomers can't read; I'm saying that the act of reading is much more complicated and mentally exhausting to them, and thus takes more time than for people who grew up reading books. So they could read just as much as anybody else, but they wouldn't be able to complete as many books. There's also the fact that you're way less inclined to read something that requires effort after a long day (and most books, or classics, require constant effort for a mushy brain)
