Because like most of today's society, I am deeply and pathologically lonely and disconnected, and if I don't plug into the parlor walls on a regular basis, harmful as it is, I'll wither away through endless depressions. Humans don't function all that well without others, as much as we'd like to rationalise otherwise.

Because I have a shit job and I hate my job and my shit job that I hate kills all my free time by making me "stay caught up" (I'm never caught up) and every day is a budgeted 6 hours of sleep (I end up sleeping 4 hours) so that I'm only mildly dead during the workday at the cost of being totally dead as soon as my ass passes the threshold of the exit and then when I get home the notion of doing actual work or doing something good for my soul is impossible and I really should just go to sleep immediately so that I can "catch up" (I never get caught up on sleep) and I end up staying up several hours to do the one thing my tortured body and brain can actually handle which is retarded timewasting and for some reason paradoxically when I do that I get a second wind and can at least tolerate a few hours of being awake before I go to bed and get 4 hours sleep again to start it all over the next day
