Why are you browsing this board instead of reading?
>>
sorry esteemed comrade Il, I'm trying.

But then who will I talk with?

I'm at work and I can't read because I can be pinged at any moment. I require zero distractions in order to read deeply and consistently.

You're thinking of Pol Pot
>>
>>24821865
Violent public spectacles during the cultural revolution against class enemies called struggle sessions. Students vs teacher not being pure enough in their ideology.
>>
Because like most of today's society, I am deeply and pathologically lonely and disconnected, and if I don't plug into the parlor walls on a regular basis, harmful as it is, I'll wither away through endless depressions. Humans don't function all that well without others, as much as we'd like to rationalise otherwise.

The normies all seem like they’re doing fine.
>>
>>24822052
Normies are either distracted from the emptiness through vocation, have found just enough kinship from education and vocation to not neck it, or are lucky enough to be truly fulfilled by real connection. They are so distracted or fulfilled that they don't generally have the time or care for personal transcendence of any kind.

Look at the stats for friendlessness in today's youth, to which I do not belong (31, but I'm a pioneer NEET.) One can blame either capitalism or some vague Postman-DFW-type Entertainment entity, which can both be conflated anyway, but there it is. Alienation and material.
>>
>>24822097
I agree that things like the Internet and suburbanization have made it harder than ever to form real connections and easier than ever to distract ourselves from the lack of it. Still, I think being a normie is hugely advantageous. A normie can walk into a superbowl party and grab a beer and immediately find things in common with everyone in the room. Having any kind of taste or intellect is like being an alien.

I'm retarded

because fuck you that's why

Uh-uhhh...umm

Because I have a shit job and I hate my job and my shit job that I hate kills all my free time by making me "stay caught up" (I'm never caught up) and every day is a budgeted 6 hours of sleep (I end up sleeping 4 hours) so that I'm only mildly dead during the workday at the cost of being totally dead as soon as my ass passes the threshold of the exit and then when I get home the notion of doing actual work or doing something good for my soul is impossible and I really should just go to sleep immediately so that I can "catch up" (I never get caught up on sleep) and I end up staying up several hours to do the one thing my tortured body and brain can actually handle which is retarded timewasting and for some reason paradoxically when I do that I get a second wind and can at least tolerate a few hours of being awake before I go to bed and get 4 hours sleep again to start it all over the next day
