Anyone else wish goodreads had a way to filter recommendations by gender? I have nothing against women's reading, but most of it (romantasy, etc.) isn't for me. Is this just me being dumb with filters? Is there some secret other recommendation site you all use?

The concept of algorithmic recs really intrigues me but the reality of it seems to be very poorly done.

I wish Goodreads had any good filtering features in general. Its function is dogshit. It'd be better if they just ripped off letterboxd and made it for books, and that's not high praise.

Why do you need goodread to find books to read OP.

chatgpt or any AI is unironically better for recommending books than goodreads

Goodreads has gone backwards consistently over a decade. It has less features and tools than it used to, I miss the most read author graphs.

I miss the old logo. That's actually what made me stop using the site.

I like to find lesser known things
