Charlton Griffin's reading of Parallel Lives.

John Lee's reading of 2666.

Both are very long too, so you get your money's worth, especially if you use the credits.

I would never listen to a significant book. The only books I consume as audio books are trashy modern self-improvement ones like those by Mark Manson.

I'm just prioritizing. I'm not saying you're wrong for consuming audio books, but for me personally the retention rate is dogshit so I prioritize accordingly.

Complete Original Short Stories of Guy de Maupassant: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoSGHy6eibg

it's librivox but the reader is good and has a cute voice. she reads too fast, though, so i recommend setting it to 0.75x speed.

in total it's tens of hours of miserable tales. it's perfect.

Ray Porter narrating "The Power of the Dog" and "The Cartel." He does unique voices for each character -- there are dozens -- and is an engaging listen.

Michael Kramer narrating any book.

The hyperion audiobook is very good as is dune because they have voice actors

>dune because they have voice actors
The voice actors only appear sporadically and infrequently during the entire book. Simon Vance does most of the narrating.

A lot of pop fiction at the time was published in magazines so the stories are usually about 25 to 30 minutes each
