Is this man the ultimate beta male? Every single scenario he comes up with can easily be solved by manning the fuck up. Nigga would be a Kamala Harris voter without a doubt.

I've memorized Alone and To Helen so far
>>
>Meets the US president on series business
>After the meeting, he solicits magazine subscriptions from the president
>President is baffled
/ourschizo/
As an aside, I imagine that people who really think that Poe is a beta male, no doubt from watching that South Park episode, listen to podcasts by former Navy SEALs and are probably in the closet.

Don't care, he's still a genius. I would place Whitman over Poe as America's National Poet if only because Poe's aesthetic is for the most part very European in its sensibilities, but Poe is still a close second, tied with Dickinson.

>Be a HARDCORE ALPHA MALE
>My bitch just fucking died but I don't care because I can just get another one
>Just got home from the motorstrip club (it's a motorcycle club and a strip club in one, shit's so cash) and it's real fucking late
>I'm sitting in my mancave finishing up my assignments that are due on Hustlers University
>I hear some fine bitches knocking on my door to ask me to fuck
>Oh shit never mind it's just the wind
>Some fucking bird flies and lands on my bugatti I have on display
>"Nevermore"
>What the hell
>I throw a pair of truck nuts I have laying around on my desk at it, it turns the bird into a bloody pulp
>I grab a couple of dudewipes to clean it up

I was reading Dickinson's poems (one of those most famous popular editions of her Complete Poems, which, iirc, is organized chronologically) and I couldn't understand most of them. I think I read the first 60 or so. When does it get good, I'm afraid to read the rest and find they're about the same.

Keep reading and rereading. Look up analyses online if you have to. Dickinson's poems are notoriously cryptic but once you understand them they are among the most rewarding verse you'll ever read.

I plan on going back to reading them, but I was just a bit discouraged by the difficulty, even obscurity of some of them. Thanks for reassuring me that that feeling is normal and I should keep trying.

No problem, you'll get it in time anon! In the meantime, here's one of her more easily parsable poems to encourage you: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/56593/a-bird-came-down-the-walk-359

I don't know. The main character in The Black Cat was pretty bad ass. He abused animals and didn't give a fuck.

Thank you, my friend. I really appreciate your help.

She's got ligature marks on her neck. Mind telling me where those came from?
