Which Brontë sister is the best?
>>
>>24827612
Emily was probably the best writer of the three, but her apparent infatuation with violent sociopaths reflects the female sexual psychology too vividly, so I can't enjoy her work.
>>
>>24827626
Yeah she's a classic woman
>>
All three of them
At once
>>
None of them had kids so they are all equally worthless as women.

Actually I'll amend this. Apparently she was an autistic hermit who never had any friends or relationships of any kind outside of her family. She was a NEET and never held a long-term job either. She's LITERALLY me. I'll forgive the fact that she clearly wanted to be ravish by a psychopathic Chad.

imagine the smell

>Emily Brontë was born on 30 July 1818[3] to Maria Branwell, the daughter of a wealthy Penzance merchant and property owner

She grew up as a rich nepobaby. Also

>two of Branwell Brontë's friends claimed that Branwell was the true author of the novel. An anonymous article followed in People's Magazine expressing incredulity that such a work could have been written by "a timid and retiring female"

>rich daddy
>male family connections
>male editors, male publisher, male ghost writers
>"Oh my god this woman BROKE LITERATURE"
>"She was only 27!!!!1111"

i bet you're insufferable irl, not that it matters since you never leave the house
>>
how did all three girls manage to become famous authors despite being so awful at writing?
>>
>>24827701
Nepotism, their grandma was wealthy af
>>
>>24827683
If I ever hated women so much that I couldn't admit I enjoyed a book written by one, I'd probably shoot myself
>>
>>24827718
So much simping today for Emily Bronte you realize she will never fuck you and you are defending a rotting corpse.
>>
>>24827749
All I'm saying is she wrote a really good book. But because she had a pair of ovaries you're seething uncontrollably over it.

I studied the Bronte in college, and all my colleagues who were 'Emily kids' were the biggest weirdos you could find.

There was this one dude who lived besides me in the dorm and collected piss bottles, had a creepy AF collection of Barbie dolls, then by the fifth semester he confessed that he was in love with me. Turned that motherfucker down like you turn down the sound level while hungover. I heard he eventually graduated and went to work in home depot.

Then there was this one bland girl who thought she was hot shit because she got good grades, claimed Emily was the best because (feminist headcanon that any specialist on the Bronte family could shutdown and did not even have sources), even though Charlotte was the girl boss. Turns out that girl lived off her dad who dealt drugs across the border, ended up poor when he was busted, and now she works in a tattoo parlor while still shilling Wuthering Heights like the corpse of Emily would help her pay her rent.

And the final person that I knew who was also an Emily kid was the TA on English literature who tried hitting up on the girls and did that performatic meme before it was a meme, acting like Emily was "really misunderstood" and saying "he was in love with her". Dude eventually failed to get into the master's program and now is NEET for life.

Conclusion: Emily kids are messed up.

Ah. There we go. Do you think in the year 2125 people will revere Phoebe Waller-Bridge the same way?
>>
>>24827792
Actors don't make everlasting impact on their medium like good writers make. I don't even know who that nepo baby is.

Wuthering Heights should be mandatory reading for men for this exact purpose. It's a good vivisection of the female romanticism for dark triad men. Jane Eyre isn't much better in this regard, Rochester basically tortures the heroine for almost half of the novel.
>>

Write like a man, toddler.
>>
>>24827683
Money can't and will never create a good writer, and I don't know how you even think "editors" is a smoking gun comeback, especially considering that she herself edited her novel and its second edition. Wuthering Heights was also polarizing and heavily overshadowed by JE and Tenant at the time, and could only find a willing publisher thanks to Charlotte's success as a novelist, through a publisher that literally her family knew but turned them down until JE exploded into popularity. I think you're just seething because you take it personally that a 'timid, retiring female' wrote a novel that's still being discussed here today near 200 years later at a younger age than you are in right now, two years before she died of consumption mind you.

this is super funny considering it's written by man, and also good concept for a novel called 'Emily Kids'
>>
>>24828020
Yes, it is written by a man. My semi-schizophrenic gay dormmate who collected piss bottles creeped me out so much, I should have seen the writing on the wall about the Emily kids.

I actually like Wuthering Heights, it is in my list of tolerable work by american authors which I'm willing to entertain, due to the fact I consider all american literature a parody of european literature akin to what 'Meet the Spartans' is to '300'.

I never thought about this way, it is just that everyone in my class who was an Emily kid turned out to have a trainwreck of a life.

The one classmate who liked Jane Eyre, on the other hand, married rich and runs a make up shop for basic college art hoes.

Shag Anne, marry Charlotte, kill Emily
