Revelation is bullshit and should not be part of the Bible. It has literally nothing to do with what Jesus said, you might as well take schizo ramblings from here and put them in scripture. Is there anyone historically significant who agrees with me?
>>24828374Obviously.
>be paullulus (trans. the least [in heaven])>be of the benjamin clan (ravening wolf)>kick james down some stairs>hold people's coats while they stone new christians to death>meet "jesus" in the wilderness, and in prison (matthew 24:26)>write a few letters which inexplicably make your words tantamount to god's law and challenge christ himself for primacyIt's not just Revelation
Schizo ramblings in the Bible? Perish the thought.
>>24828377>Former Augustinian friar and German reformer Martin Luther called Revelation "neither apostolic nor prophetic" in the 1522 preface to his translation of the New Testament (he revised his position with a much more favorable assessment in 1530)Why did he pussy out? He got it right.
Come on, name a better antagonist than the fucking Whore of Babylon.
>>24828374John and Revelation is all you need. The rest can be discarded.
>>24828374Luther but he was wrong like he always was about everything. You don't know better than John the Apostle. Neither did that German heresiarch with mental problems.
>>24828374Agreed. Idk how anyone can read it and take it seriously unless you're somehow able to suspend all disbelief skepticism rationality and freely yield to impossible schizo nonsense
>>24828467>unless you're somehow able to suspend all disbelief skepticism rationality and freely yield to impossible schizo nonsenseWhich is what Protestants and fundies do all the time. The Protestant reformation has been a disaster for the human race
>>24828470papists have no one to blame but themselves
>>24828484>everyone was wrong for 1500 years until a poorly educated man with scrupulity problems came up with the truth
>>24828374I don't really get why people care about the whole end of the world thing. Everyone's world ends eventually, it happens every day, often when they least expect it [like a thief in the night]. I don't think God has any need to institute a literal apocalypse for that purpose.

Bible reflects stages of lifeold testament ist young, dogmatic, sex-obsessed idealistgospels are middle aged cuck moderevelation is homeless schizo on streetand paulus letters represent forum jannies/mods
>>24828374If your issue with revelations is that it's schizo ramblings, you might as well cut out the old testament and the new testament as well -- welp, guess you might as well just toss the whole book into the garbage.>current year + 10>Actually reading the bible>ishygddt
>>24828492The Roman catholic church was and still is wrong about countless things, yes.
>>24829003>revelation is homeless schizo on streetIn that case, Ezekiel is an accomplished but newly-developed schizophrenic that everyone is worried about
>>24828374Pretty much the only parts of the New Testament that is relatively trust worthy and close to the truth are the synoptic gospels. John is clearly written much later and while it no doubt has plenty of authentic parts to it you cannot rely on it at all for an accurate depiction of the real Christ. As for the rest of the New Testament, almost all the letter are inauthentic with the exception of a number of Paul's. The problem is that Paul basically accidentally invented the Christian religion through his attempt to interpret Jesus' death and resurrection. He pretty much never talks about anything Jesus preached about and solely focuses on his death and resurrection for the most part. I don't think Paul was a liar but I do believe that he had really nothing to do with Jesus and what he was actually about. As for Revelation, it basically steam rolls Christ's message and instead embraces Jewish revenge fantasy.
>>24830707The point is the metamessage that arises from the contradictions anon
>>24828467Rich considering this entire religion thinks a Jew came back to life and floated up into heaven. Anything is possible or believable when you believe something that nonsensical as the baseline.
>>24831044Which is?
>>24828374So the question is, why was Revelation added? What did Constantine want to happen by adding it?
>>24831159Something no one can agree on, that's why we have 1000+ denominations
>>24828374>It has literally nothing to do with what Jesus said, you might as well take schizo ramblings from here and put them in scripture.Same with everything from Paul but that sure didn't stop the jews from starting catholicism, did it?

People underestimate how easy it is to predict the future in rough terms, predicting long term trends that aren't stopped by short term temporary reversals and chaos.2000 years ago under the populist Caesar people sensed a change that would lead to a golden age of peace followed by decadence that would lead to a fall and the re-emergence of ancient beasts once worshiped as gods. The patterns repeat and elements/demons get reinforced like how the modern corporation that now dominates our lives mirrors older iterations of itself, growing stronger with each iteration.
