Has anyone here read this? I found it exhausting. There's very little respite between all these grotesque vignettes that Gira presents, it's just relentless. He's a fairly talented prose artisan, but it's just too much. Maybe I'm a coward (heh).

Can't believe I'm actually eating lunch while reading this." Reminiscent of J. G. Ballard in his Crash/Atrocity Exhibition phase, or else J. K. Huysmans on an ether binge in Los Angeles.
