Another good novel from Brasillach. He is actually a talented writer. He may have been chuddy irl, but that doesn't come across in any of his novels at all. At all. The only exception is Les Sept Couleurs where he explicitly talks about Fascism, but even then it isn't chuddy at all. Brasillach should be more well known in and out of France.I greatly enjoyed La Conquérante, it was a very good story about a French girl being put in extraordinary circumstances in colonial Morocco right before WWI. It's also a good love story XD It's the classic "how can I choose between hot muscular sigma Chad and sensitive intelligent alpha Chad," but still very well written. Everything builds up to the founding of a new town in Morocco (founded by the female protagonist, which is what makes her the "Conqueror").

The whole reason I started reading him was because I was considering translating him for 4chan. I may do this, but you'd only get one translation every year, of amateur quality, and I don't even know how I'd share it. But his easiest work to translate would be Les Sept Couleurs because of how short it is. His best work is Comme le temps passe... but it's a long book, might take 2 years to translate. The translation will take me a long time, if I do them, because they won't be my main focus.
