Would Job have been less distressed if he had a more materialistic/atheist outlook and saw his misfortunes as just part of life, rather than punishment or a test from God?

>>24831763The book arguably doesn't fit with the rest of the bible if you believe it literally and not symbolically. Satan is supposed to be literally cast out of heaven by that point and yet he speaks freely with God. It's confusing unless you apply another layer over the top of it. Then again, you start reading it that way (ecstatically?) and it leads to some strange assumptions regarding Job's "friends."
