Ted Hughes made Sylvia Plath's poems better and all feminists did in return was accuse him of censorship and controlling the narrative, on top of baselessly asserting he raped, beat, abused, or killed her.
Did he have some sort of masculine energy based in mythology that made him so attractive, and repulsive, to feminists?

Feminism is one of the stupidest of all the secular religions. They're encouraged to discard their natural eroticism and strive for nothing but the right to consumption. It's so pernicious that they can't help but to project their perceived inferiority onto women belonging to different cultures.

Yes

Daily reminder that Plath has already tried to kill herself three times before she met Hughes.
Bitch was mad as a box of frogs.

Hughes (and also his sister) admitted to destroying multiple poems, some diary entries, and an unpublished novel. Having reread Ariel some months ago this is an almost unforgivable sin, and I am convinced that Plath was by far the greater poet.

Hughes also refused the rights to quote Plaths poems, letters and diary entries to any biographer who did not paint him in a positive light.

Fuck him.

He was probably trying to save her reputation from being marred by crappy works and embarrassing biographical details.

Could you post your favourite poem from Plath? I've never seen anything exceptional from her.

As any normal person would. Do you live in reality?

I’m reading her poetry for the first time. She’s very good.

He claimed that it was to protect the children, though of course that was not a reason to destroy them, simply withhold em until they were old enough would have been a solution. Later he also released a whole lot of obviously unfinished first drafts so I seriously doubt that it was for the sake of her reputation. Plus he kept an awful lot of embarrassing and personal details (as long as they were about her, not him) so I seriously doubt the censorship was anything other than self-preservation.

As for poems: The Moon and the Yew Tree, Edge, Tulips, Berck Plage, Sheep and Fog are all excellent posthumous poems. Also 'Cut' which is my favorite of the earlier poems and is probably the one to start with.
