>Wherever authority is still considered good form, so that one does not “give reasons” but commands, the dialectician is a sort of clown: people laugh at him, they don’t take him seriously. Socrates was the clown who got people to take him seriously: what really happened there?—

B-but Nietzsche, Doesn't that mean you care about what others think about think about you ? Isn't that weak-willed itself and asserts that Socrates himself is strong-willed for not caring about others and affirming his strong will on others, This is a an Ad Hominem

>B-but Nietzsche, Doesn't that mean you care about what others think about think about you ?
That's not what's at stake in the passage, he's talking about a transformation in Greek taste such that dialectics replaced an older taste.

>asserts that Socrates himself is strong-willed
No, re-read,
>so that one does not “give reasons” but commands
The dialectician "gives reasons," he does not command, which is why Socrates and his subsequent respect among the Greeks stands out to Nietzsche.

>This is a an Ad Hominem
Have you never read Nietzsche? Ad Hominem is practically a first principle to him.

Did you really start a thread so you could try to lazily "gotcha" Nietzsche with some fallacy you learned about earlier today?

Besides what the other anon said, I don't think "not caring about others' opinion" is really something he would agree with, considering that there are multiple aphorisms of his where he states that he believes in a kind of aristocratic civility that takes multiple generations to breed. It depended on who the others in question were.

Yes.

You're so keen on your defence that you fail to see the whole premise, Educate yourself.
