Why not roll up an infinitely tall hill?
>>24852473Because it's stupid.
>>24852478Let's correct it.Perhaps the myths were told incorrectly.Seems fun :)
>>24852473>>24852485if it sounds fun to you its not going to be your punishment, simple as
>>24852517>punishmentsounds like a weak mindset.what not develop worldviews that can make the most of suffering rather than just avoid it.convert your meaningless nothing existence into something; hit the metaphysical gym.
>>24852473Because having to start over is part of the punishment
>>24852633Oh if he drops it, it'll still fall down and he'd have to start again. But why must not the hill be infinite if Sisyphus has to do this eternally?Perhaps even make the hill non-linear?How would that change his fate; what would be his perspective/phenomenology? How would he perceive his own existence and accomplishments and being? His measuring stick is infinite in length yet measurable in suffering. The Gods weren't "punishing" Sisyphus you fool, they were testing him: to upset the gods is to challenge their authority as possible equals. That is how the Greeks saw divine ontology related to man and apotheosis.
>>24852473First you should try to kill your brother, shag and impregnate your niece, snitch on a god, destroy the cycle of life and death, and scam another goddess. Better start now.>The Gods weren't "punishing" Sisyphussure they weren't
>>24852654Well, at least you have the posturing down to a T. Starting something over and over again without making any meaningful progress crushes the spirit of most people and thus is very essential to the punishment. It's also where modern readings start, no way to embrace futility when you can tell yourself things like "at least i climbed x miles high" or "it's an infinite timeline, there has to be a 7/11 somewhere around here!"Your last point is basically coping through the possibility of taking over his spot if you suck up to the boss long enough. But only once you rid yourself of that hope you can see the part of the punishment that is being embraced.
>>24852759>coping existing:)
>>24852848>existingIf I pull that belief system off, will you die?
>>24852863What do you mean?We can cooperate.Unless you want to existentially defect?
>>24852473It's a myth about the rising and setting of the sun each day but retards think it's about hell or something.
