a book about PTSD has more reviews on Amazon than the first book of A Game of Thrones. has anyone read this book? how's it?

I think it's for therapy culture people.

I did. You can pretty much ascertain the whole book from the title. The beginning is the author making themselves self-important by telling their story then going into some (sketchy and incredible) case studies in psychology pertaining to the effects of trauma (interpreting innocuous situations as threatening, numbness, seeking danger, yadda yadda) then it finishes by telling you to do yoga and therapy to fix trauma. I think people just like it because of the title, the self-affirmation, and it's easy to cite as a source without actually reading the book because it's written by a doctor and most people haven't read the book. I also believe that women love giving it as a gift to other women because they all think they're generationally traumatized by the patriarchy.

Psychology is a sham and ridiculous. I don't believe anything in regards to "repressing" deeply horrific memories or dissociative identities.

really thanks. saved me time from reading it

No problem. I had to read it since so many women were referencing it in discussions about trauma.
