Nope. The first economics text a neophyte should read is pic related. It is simply not possible to have any framework of econ without understanding its very foundation (monetary theory), and then once you do, you realize outmoded thinking like Marx or Smith or Krugman or 90% of economic thought and teaching is simply not relevant.
