I'm currently in a reading slump. Theses are the only books I've managed to read this year. What should I read next? What's the /lit/ equivalent of going to a bar coming home with a slump buster?
>>24863921>What's the /lit/ equivalent of going to a bar coming home with a slump buster?200 page novel, I recommend Camus
>>24863921Read something like the plotters by un-su kim. Maybe fleming’s casino royale. Hell the three Horowitz bond books are decent and a nice breeze.Or if you need something short Sjon’s the blue fox, woody Allen’s new book what’s with Baum. Bunch of different genres and writing styles there.I just read breakfast at Tiffany’s which was good, I like Richards Yates and he has a bunch of short stories I recommend, his full length efforts too.
>>24863921Have you tried dumb fun?
>>24863921Just read a light novel it's like junk food lit. You're mentally starved you need to treat it like refeeding a holocaust camp survivor. If you jump straight in to some Faulkner you'll overwhelm your kidneys and start pissing blood. Reincarnated as a slime taught me how to read again after I quit binge drinking, there's no shortage of slop to pick from.
The Death of Ivan Ilyich

>>24863921Set a timer for 25 minutes, and start reading a book that you WANT to read. Then, when the timer is up, more often than not, if you are interested in the book, you will either reset the timer and keep reading, or simply just continue reading. I don't do this though. Instead I just read in short bursts in a day, usually multiple books, following my fancy. This year, I've read:IliadOdysseyAeneidOresteiaPrometheus BoundThe SuppliantsSeven Against ThebesThe BacchaeRepublicEuthyphroApologyCritoPhaedoPhaedrusMenoGorgiasThe CatagoriesDe InterpretioneThe Name of the RoseThe BibleAnd there's a few more that I've forgot to mention. In a day I typically spend five hours reading, alternating between books when another one captivates me more than the one I am currently reading. Don't listen to faggots online who brag about reading "a book a week." They are retarded sillybillies. A book a month is frankly perfectly reasonable and fine.
>>24864128>The Death of Ivan Ilyichgood call>>24864054for this, maybe the Cicero novelisations by Robert Harris
>>24864054Is that an infinite jest prequel?
>>24863921Like other's have suggested, some slop, although you've already read quite a bit of classic sci-fi slop, maybe switch genre.I read a few of Steven Saylor's roman detective stories this year, very sloppish and fun. Try Roman Blood.
