Or is it just that people like his relatable nerdy Persona? Recently read Mistborn book 1 which is apparently one of his best. Some fun worldbuilding but the dialogue and writing was really terrible.
>>24879566It's the same slop that every other D&D fantasy book is, nothing especially egregious or brilliant, just something to read.
>>24879566that ending of book one was one hell of a hackjob. and then he did the same thing again at the end of book two. started book three and i am expecting the same thing
>>24879566worldbuilding is depth
>>24879566On an aesthetic level, he's legitimately one of the worst writers I have ever seen be traditionally published. Almost every single sentence he writes is clunky and ugly, and his dialogue is outright painful to read, especially when he's trying to be "funny" (pic related). He seems like a nice guy though and some of his videos on novel writing actually have some helpful insights.
He's like John Green, he writes books for people who hate reading
>>24879566>accessible to normies >meets deadlines>churns it out like a horny milkmaid making butterHe doesn't have to be any good.
>>24879566It's good if you're a fourteen year old girl or if you're a RedditorBut seriously he is completely formulaic and his novels have no literary merit or psychological depth; he is commercially successful and maybe you can enjoy a novel or two of his but they grow very tiresome. The dialogue is the worst - it is all "funny". In fact, all popular modern fantasy is like this now, everyone is trying to be him, and he has ruined the industry. But at he doesn't add modern politics to his novels.
he filtered /lit/ so these books are probably good
