Books on Jiang Zemin from a Chinese perspective? I am also really interested in the post Reform and Opening Up-era Shanghai, especially in the 90s. Anything is welcome but I would prefer from a Chinese perspective.

For books on Jiang I am less interested in his biography as I am in the direction the CPC steered China towards under his leadership and his theoretical contributions.

Many Chinese people thought that in societal realm, Xi is an "reversion", or a degradation from Jiang era.
Without regards to ethics or policies, I'd say in raw IQ Jiang is the highest, while Xi is the lowest.

Zemin was a classic example of a "capitalist roader" and was western influenced himself anyhow. Tianneman was actually Capitalists shooting pro-Mao protestors even though it is often incorrectly depicted as pro-democracy protests.
