So, where do i start it?Old testament? New? And which book?
>>24884083The Gospels are the only part that matters. Everything else in it is outdated judaism or papist propaganda.
>>24884083OT is jewish nonsense skip it
>>24884083Start with the Gospel of Mark
>>24884083well the old testament is real and the new testament is not and just made up by Paul so choose wisely.
I'd choose a Gospel, like Mark or John, then move to Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians and Hebrews. The Robert M'Cheyne reading plan is very good. It'll take you through the New Testament and Psalms twice a year, and the Old Testament once per year.>>24884083>>24884096Being seeing this a lot from Christians. Insane take.. I see Christians as the true Israel, denounce the talmud and the modern nation-state of Israel, and call on all Jews to repent and come to Christ, before you call me a kike
start with the talmud to understand what Christianity is.
>>24884096>OT is jewish nonsense skip itas if the OT is not continued in every way by the new NT, kek, just become a pagan or something.
https://www.ligonier.org/posts/rc-sprouls-starter-list-reading-bibleSproul also has a short book that's a good primer on biblical interpretation, the types of literature found in the Bible, the various approaches to translation, etc.The book:https://welib.org/search?page=1&q=knowing+scriptureA lecture series based on the book:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL30acyfm60fW0rTnBsGGERdIjRCQcSpFpGood luck
>>24884119If I can shill one more thing, it's Paul Washer's "Biblical Foundations for the Christian Faith" series. They're free on his mission ministry's website. There's versions for the KJV, NASB and ESV translations. They're essentially study books that reference scripture and ask questions of you. Very good stuff.Sproul was a Presbyterian, and Washer is a Reformed Baptist, if it matters to you.https://heartcrymissionary.com/books/people/paul-david-washer/

>>24884139It gets funnier and funnier how badly your crowd got buckbroken by some nerds on reddit fifteen years ago every time you refuse to let it go in response to valid criticism.
>>24884109I wonder whos behind this post
>>24884125a reminder for those who seek in earnest, before this thread declines further..good luck, brothers
>>24884139Oy vey!
>>24884083I am an ESL catholic, but to me King James is better written, prose-wise. And more culturally relevant, when people reference the bible in pop-culture they often use that version.
>>24884083The beginning retard
>>24884083OP, the answers in this thread are as bad as they can get. Please trust me in this one. Start with Genesis, then follow your gut; if you think something will not be useful for the story or the message, then you can either skim over it, skip it, or look up a summary online of the most important points. Almost half the OT is "filler" (Like 99% of psalms or lots of prophecies that are referenced when they are realized, lots of laws, lots of genealogies...), but you still need to understand the non-filler parts to really understand the NT. You'll get good recognizing the filler after a while. I warn you: The first filter is from the second half of Exodus to the ending of Deuteronomy. Lots of laws and israelite rituals/traditions explained over and over again. Get past that, until the book of Joshua, and it's smooth sailing.
>>24884083Just read Acts 7.Literally all you need.
>>24884083The Book of M__N
>>24884083read the new testament first, don't be like me.
>>24884097For some reason I misread this line as>Start with the Gospels of Marx
>>24884483>half the OT is filler>uses the psalms as an example
>>24884083Start at the beginning
>>24884096Marcianites are alive and well lmao. Well done anon expose these turds.
>>24884483> follow your gut; if you think something will not be useful for the story or the message, then you can either skim over it, skip it, or look up a summary online of the most important points. Almost half the OT is "filler"These people shit up this board LARPing as christian every single day. They don’t get called out because everyone else is also just tradpretending. Can’t make fun of you people when you do it so well yourselves.
>>24885286The psalms are songs. There are exceptions, like psalm 22, but most psalms will not help you understand christianity or the story. It is also one of the longest books in the entire Bible. >>24885361And when did I larp as a christian? Is it just because I'm guiding someone to read the most influential book ever written in human history? I am not evangelizing or anything here. Am I larping as an hellenistic if I help someone through Homer? Rent free.
>>24884083BOM
start from where the jews stole it from
>>24884083Read the NT all the way through, then the OT.Or you can just read John, then Romans, then Proverbs and go from there.
>>24884083New testament>> The Gospel of JohnThe Logos which was mere universal in Greek philosophy penetrates the womb of particularity, reemerging as an individual, Jesus. Truth and freedom are now a gift to all men (John 8:32). The absolute idea gives itself personality. Also read 1 Cor. 2.Old testament >>Behold that the serpent does not lie to Eve in Genesis 3. God confirms it at 3:22. In Exodus 3:7-14 God states the principle of identity à la Parmenides: “I am that I am.” Leviticus 19:18 states the golden rule or Kantian categorical imperative.
>>24884083If you're serious about it the most straightforward thing to do is to read the continuous historical narrative so you actually have the factual background to make sense of the various prophetic/poetic/philisophical books contained within.https://assets.ascensionpress.com/tga/student/90DayReadingPlan.pdfChug through this, then probably read the gospel of John, then read Romans, then read whatever you want from the rest. It's not one book, it's 73 distinct works, so this list at least compiles a historical narrative order for you to start with. Then from that point its as simple as having a checklist and marking off books in whatever order you feel like.
