I changed my mind. Where to start with Dellilo?

im curious - someone post some good delillo prose
>>
>>24889665
white noise, ofc
>>
>>24889702
I don't like the premise. Anything but that.
>>

libra, the one about the jfk assassination, is my favourite by far. (least favourite, by far, is ratner's star.)
>>
I started with Underworld, whether you should or not is a different matter of course. Libra is probably his most accessible.
>>
Dropped after the mc gets cucked over the phone. Trash Am*rican drivel. White noise, despite having ntr too, at least had some good scenes.
Do all his novels have cucking as a plot device?
>>
His best work in my opinion is The Names, Running Dog and Libra. I would suggest you check out either Libra or White Noise to get an impression of his writing and then you'll decide whether you want to read more or not.

Picked it up, thanks

I read White Noise, Libra and Mao II in a row and I enjoyed the first two quite a bit but by the time I got to Mao II I just felt like it was the same rehashed things again.
maybe just too much of him at once but all his characters seem to always speak and act in the same strange ways.
planning on reading Underworld soon but have been wanting to try to finish some shorter books before I spend several months chugging through that one
>>
He's a lesser Pynchon, read the original instead.

doesn’t exist

Boomers were obsessed with cuckoldry, you’ll be hard pressed to find a post-war American novel that doesn’t have cuckoldry in one way or another.

That's not really fair. His only Pynchon-adjacent work is Ratner's Star.
