It definitely felt like there could have been a better version of the novel if he spent some more time dialing in the plot. Still fun and worth the read, though. Definitely not at the level of a lot of sci fi where the book is entirely carried by the ideas and the actual writing is complete garbage.Is permutation city better executed?
