>>24923005According to ChatGPT he penned a couple of critical essays against D'Annunzio back in his pacifist days, but the source it gave me was a complete confabulation and he only mentioned D'Annunzio in passing reference to his literature.Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone has a source on his journalism about D'Annunzio. I'd love to read it.Pic sort of related, one of Yukio Mishima's translation of D'Annunzio. Another grail I'd love to read but doesn't seem to be available online and I'm not rich enough to charter a plane to japan just for the occasion.
I just want a muscular latin strong-man to ruthlessly dominate my country. A man with a square jaw and steely gaze who doesn't take "no" for an answer. A father figure that's hard as iron and full of vigor. If that makes me a fascist then fuck it.

>>24923926it checks out, etymologically speaking.
>>24923322Literal anus loving gay.>>24923889If you are interested and can read Italian D'Annunzio’s letters are well worth reading. Otherwise get Renzo De Felice’s biography of Mussolini which has multiple chapters dedicated to their relationship. At first they corresponded regularly as both supported entry into the first world war. Though it’s mostly dull as Mussolini tends to over praise, while D'Annunzio is mostly keen to earn the support of Il Popolo d'Italia. And doesn’t give a shit for Mussolini otherwise. Later on, as D'Annunzio took Fiume, which Mussolini originally supported, but the fascists found themselves on the back foot against the militarist’s and Irredentist’s. Then Mussolini became truly suspicious of the man , dropping his support for Fiume. Mussolini was careful to distance himself from direct action and even at first gave only nominal assent .He understood that had Fiume ultimately succeeded The Fasci di Combattimento would have found themselves completely isolated. Many Italians still accuse Mussolini of outright betrayal here. And D’Annunzio wrote Mussolini a letter from Fiume saying as much.D’Annunzio was poet and despised most politicians as prevaricators . Mussolini was merely one of his many pawns. One never taken too seriously Mussolini on the other hand was a consummate politician and outplayed D’Annunzio him at his own game. Abandoning Fiume was for him a political necessity
>>24924740>And D’Annunzio wrote Mussolini a letter from Fiume saying as muchMio caro Mussolini, mi stupisco di voi e del popolo italiano. Io ho rischiato tutto, ho dato tutto, ho avuto tutto. Gabriele D’Annunzio.
