How come there are no great biographies for meth or fentanyl users?
>>24926985Because most are low income people who can't afford to be published and they usually end up dying.
>>24926986This woman was also low income in 1975 West Berlin, she made money from royalties after a group of journalists interviewed her and published her interview and made a movie out of her experiencs because West Berlin was drowning in heroin during the 70s and 80s. Without that shewould have overdosed in the streets like her 13 year old friend did. She wasn't high income herself, she was just lucky to attract attention.
>>24926993Probably because she's female. My second point still stands.
>>24927006There are female meth and fentanyl users but no one is publishing biographies about them either.
most drugs users are actually getting high on the equivalent of a "hon dose". actual proper drug use results in tiger blood
>>24927012Meth/fenty destroys your looks too fast. Heroin chic was a thing.
>>24926985People on amphetamines are too busy getting things done to write memoirs and people on fentanyl don't care about anything.
Because meth and fentanyl destroy lives, the lives of the user and all the lives around them. There are however great biographies of amphetamine users who were not meth heads, try The Beatles
>>24927082OP is a book about a heroin addict anonshe prostitutes herself to everyone for heroinher friends, male and female, prostitute themselves to everyone for heroinher friend dies of overdose at 13 after being gangraped by turksher female friends do literal child porn for drug money (some guy takes pornographic photos of them in exchange for heroin)her boyfriend doesn't catch aids by pure miracle given that it's the 70s and he's selling himself to homos for drug moneythere's literally a scene where one of her clients wants used panties from her, a 14 year old girl, in exchange for money for drugsI don't think destroying lives matters all that much
>>24926985Why was west berlin so degenerate and destitute while east berlin seemingly not as bad
>>24926985smartphones. People are on their computers more than they are on books. You need to check computer-made stuff such as electronic music and you'll find some interesting things made by meth and fentanyl users. But generally speaking, the tide has changed, the written word counts nothing in today's world.
Open: An Autobiography, by Andre Agassi, talks a lot about his use of methMostly there are not great biographies because someone using meth is extremely controversial. TV shows like Nurse Jackie with the main character addicted to Adderall can be played off, but meth is more serious and publishers don't want to get seen as making it more acceptable Fentanyl is just really strong, it's not possible to be a functioning fentanyl user. It's way too strong. Someone can function while high on heroin but it isn't possible on fentanyl, which induces a sweet stupor very much like death, so intense that someone standing often just bends down at the waist and becomes immediately goes limp without even lying down and they stay that way for hours This of course does not apply to doses given medicinally like in hospitals, but those does are only intended to suppress intense physical agony and don't go any stronger, they aren't meant to make you feel good. Sometimes they are given in prescription in which case you could hypothetically have a functioning fentanyl user but if they become addicted then they will inevitably go to recreational doses and probably buy it from the street which is cheaper than any other hard drug

>>24927082Alcoholism does too
