Back at the Covid pandemic, I started writting again after high school, I've always been a casual writter and write only for myself. At that time I challenged myself on writing a novel since I usually do short stories. Due to studying at a military academy I stopped writting for almost a year until I started more shortstories around 2022 and wrote most of the story I wanted for the novel. It was in 2023 when due to doing an instruction cruise on board a tallship that my writing began to stall, and finally upon returning, graduating, doing thesis and start actually working my writing just completely stopped. I started re-reading and modifying some bits from the beginning but at this point I just ask myself "Should I continue?" "Is it really worth the effort and time?"
Has anyone ever been to a situation like this?

If you're both a talented writer and have something interesting to say, then yes it is worth it. Immortalizing your ideas and contributing to the literary world is worth the the labor and missed opportunities. If however you are mediocre and unoriginal and are simply doing this as a vanity project, then.. well you know the answer.

I don't care about approval on what I write, or if I'm talented and interesting or not. I write for myself, I don't expect nor intend to publish anything.
My ambitions aren't to be the greatest writer that's ever lived and suddenly come out of nowhere with revolutionary texts that will "contribute to the literary world". I just write because I like to, and for no one else but myself.

so then you need to decide what "worth it" means to you and... viola, you will have your question answered.
