It's been a while since I've read anything. I'm looking for something that examines the absurdism of life, something 'existentialist'. Fiction or nonfiction is OK. Thanks anons

>>24927546Was not expecting to see kaiba on this board today. Or at all today. Based taste anon. Don't have a rec for you but here's a bump. I'd like to see some recs myself as I'm in the same boat.
>>24927546>>24927990I find Stanislaw Lem has a similar vibe to Kaiba. Don't ask me to explain why.

>>24927546There are no good books of that type. Read this instead.
>>24929785did you pull that from the experience of god bibliography by chance?
War with the Newts, not a direct correlation with the theme of the absurd, but a funny satire about salamander.
>>24927546Good taste. I think this is a case of inverse-Lovecraft where something only works visually and could never be accomplished in the written word.As Lovecraft relies on the nebulous and unknown to create unease that doesn't work in film or tele, Kaiba relies on the abstract forms of its futuristic setting to create the alienness that makes it so captivating. You couldn't do it with words, you'd spend pages just describing weird shapes and proportions and the effect would be lost.
