>Read philosophy bro

Okay, but will I end up retarded somehow (I'm already retarded), filling my head with theories that are thousands of years outdated? If so, what's the point?

reading anything pre 1850's isnt philosophy, its just history as none of it is relevant in modern times.
just start with a introduction to Hegel then Marx, learn about commodity fetishisms (which is what you're probably doing to the idea of philosophy right now) and then ask GBT for recs

lol "outdated" metaphysical science has outlasted and will outlast all contemporary "science".

This. Heraclitus is still right, we're just beginning to find our nerd words for what he meant by flux and fire etc.

Who said its outdated, have you even read it? And what theories are you talking about?
People turning in to philosophy with genuine interest, after finding out that 2000 years ago people had the same problems and how they they tried to overcome it. Here is two quotes:
*If you seen the present, you've seen everything - as it's been since the beginning, as it will be forever.*
And the second, not from the greeks though:
*If you need wisdom to be defined, you don't have it.*

If you pushed to it after memed by someone, it is probably not yet time for you (if it ever will be time). I could recommend Aurelius from this viewpoint: It is a private records of the most powerful man on a planet at his period of time, never meant to be published or even read by anyone. Now move that to a modern figures. Do you want to know whats in their heads? If so, read Meditations, as it probably a single option we'll ever have. You'd be surprised (not to mention that philosophers are light years ahead of modern "succesful" people).

The theories and ideas aren't outdated and they never will be.
