Hello frens and not so friendly anonsI'm seeking your advice today because I desire to gift my mother a book on this year's Christmas, but I am unaware of modern literature, and would like your advice. The last book she read and told me she liked was Murakami, so I'm looking for something similar to that. I haven't read Murakami at all so I have no idea what I am looking for.I have had people recommend me Borges or Garcia Marquez, she already has all books by Marquez, but seems bored by by the metaphysics in Borges.Furthermore I would like something perhaps more "contemporary". Not that I think old things are worse, in fact this is the opposite of my commonly held position, yet I think my mother would appreciate the novelty of something recent, the discovery of it if you will. Please keep in mind we are talking about a woman, who is my dear mother, therefore I ask of you that your recommendations aren't overtly violent, sexual or depressing. For my father I have settled on buying him a book on cinema, since he has recently expressed the desire to delve deeper in this art.Feel free to discuss whichever books you are thinking of gifting to your friends and family, and to guide other anonimous users in their choices as well.Cheers and remember to love your parents.
Any book by Laszlo Krasznahorkai. He is in vogue thanks to nobelfags.
