Cuck mentality
>>
>>24941777
Yet you probably obey the law every chance you get
>>
>>24941798
because its for the good of society
>>
>>24941807
NPNW
>>
>>24941798
Not true, I grope random women on public transit and rob from food pantries regularly.
>>
One might even say a slave mentality.

Socrates' opinion comes off more as personal rather than universal, i.e, IF and IF and IF such and such and such conditions about the state apply as in his case, then he's acting with reason. But those conditions are quite stringent, namely and briefly, he does consider the authority of the state absolutely legitimate
>>
The point is that the individual is determined by the society in which he lives. There is no such thing as an individual outside of society. So to go against the law of your society is to ontologically destroy yourself in a way that is more potent even than the death that society wishes to administer to you.
>>
>>24941829
Prove it, liar.
>>
Most people do not deserve to be outside of the law. Some entrepreneurs, maybe some mercenaries, yes, but not your average incel goyim who thinks he's above everyone else.
>>
>>24941996
>he does consider the authority of the state absolutely legitimate
like an american in the 50's with the john birch society
>>24942002
>to go against the law of your society is to ontologically destroy yourself in a way that is more potent even than the death that society wishes to administer to you
and when the law is a morass of contradictions with the purpose of forcing anyone becoming powerful to engage in corrupt practices thus ensuring that the powerful are all corrupt
>>
>>24942037
>Most people do not deserve to be outside of the law
anyone who wants a family needs to be outside the law, or their child will be mistreated, which contradicts God's law
>>

The Straussian interpretation of Crito is that Crito is simply too dumb to get philosophy so Socrates tells him a fairy tale to make him feel better about Socrates's impending execution.
>>
The exoteric meaning is that people need to obey law to maintain the correct functioning of society. The esoteric meaning is that only a handful of people are truly gifted and can and should follow their own law, and that the masses need to obey the Law because only law and tradition keeps a society cohesive and functioning. If too many people do not obey the law then society will fail, therefore the (moral) privilege of not obeying the law is secretly reserved to those few gifted ones, all while keeping the masses in their place.

Neither capitalist pig rational actor theory nor commiefag "show me the class i'll show you the politics" theory explain to me why troons/homos want to throw society into a state of nature when the law/police are the only thing between them and the backwoods retards (who make up 40-50% of the country) that think they are literal unironic demons escaped from hell.
>>
>>24942002
Bullshit. Men have a nature. Society can either be in line with it in which case it is good, or it can suppress nature in which case to go against the law is to become more yourself.
>>
>>24943242
Nta but it's defensible, lines up with a passage in the Republic about how the only philosopher who owes something to their city is the one specifically reared to be a philosopher by their city, and no other. Plus, Socrates does give it away when he tells Crito that his age is a factor, he would've dipped if this happened when he was younger.

Crito refers to the ideal relationship between citizen and state wherein the state is a true representative of both the collective good and the super-collective objective moral order.
Obviously such a state has nothing in common at all with the modern states and their arbitrary meme laws, or the relationship between modern state, law and citizen.
