I've been listening to Steve's videos for years now and finally decided to check out his substack. On his videos he's very opinionated and isn't afraid of calling out well renowned authors like Faulkner, Mccarthy, or Williams. But the books I see him praise are super weird. Like this christian military fiction slop as his 3rd best thriller of the year, like really? Maybe it isn't half bad but I have trouble judging his taste.
