Just checked this out from the library. I haven't read any Tennessee Williams but I didn't know he was a proper poet as well. Any fans? Any thoughts?

I didn't know he wrote poetry either. And this isn't a good sign.

Apparently he saw himself first and foremost as a poet until his success as a playwright become undeniable. There's some good bits about it in the introduction of the book. His hero was Hart Crane.

I suppose it's true what they say,
>every novelist is a failed poet
only playwright in this case, hehe
