Besides picrel, how many good pieces of secondary literature exist on the pre-Socratics? What about the Sophists?

>>24945533Don't know... Like you, I'm only able to regurgitate whatever spews out this place, unable to venture into the dreaded unknown of the searchbar
>>24945533I own pic rel. it covers everything from Thales to Aristotle to Plotinus and the Neoplatonists and early Christians. Some of Hegel’s philosophy and opinions slip in such as his political philosophy but overall it’s a good recap of the Greek writers
>>24945564>Some of Hegel’s philosophy and opinions slip inI think if it's well separated that would assist in understanding Hegel
>>24945600What I mean is his history opinions. Like how he believed that Athens and Greece simply weren’t ready for Socrates because they had citizens and a slave class so they weren’t as liberated as 19th c Germany is thus what Socrates saying fell on a people with deaf ears.

>>24945533there is an absolute shit tonne of secondary sources on the pre-socratics & sophists. Just sign up for a free jstor account and do a search on whoever catches your fancy and start reading. If you want primary sources, you already picked one for the pre-socratics. For the sophists other than socrates, check out the book "The Older Sophists", edited by Sprague. I don't like how they dropped XMG when presenting Gorgias' metaphysical work, but that's life. You should also check out the attic orators. Comedy option buy Elea, it has a recreation of Gorgias' metaphysical work in the back.
