The real problem with the movie isn’t that it’s left wing (boring and incorrect observation moron) but that it’s nonsensical because it depicts totally anachronistic red brigade/weatherman-esque urban radicalism, organization, and tactics existing in the 2020s on the one hand while at the same time showing its ultimate product in the daughter being a No Kings liberal protestor at the end of the film. The former hasn’t existed in the west for 40-50 years, the latter are explicitly not leftwing at all, just a mess that borrows from the history of real movements to basically justify voting for whatever corporate stand in is running. Extremely bourgeois movie, typical of an anti-trump liberal who thinks of themselves as virtuous and fighting “fascism”. Obviously a retard like OP will just make the usual category errors but those people shouldn’t be engaged with in discussion ever, like trying to talk with a street preacher or something.

Beyond the state coming down in full force, we see the flaws within the French 75. One of the most shocking and ironic scenes is the bank robbery scene, where the black girl is screaming about black power before murdering the black security guard. Ultimately these groups have a spark that extinguish fast, due to entropy and state power.The majority of the movie is occupied with the aftermath of the betrayal of Leo's gf, how the French 75 is aged out and irrelevant, and yet some spirit of it remains, as this ragtag team manage to somehow save the girl.And, in the same way that the old hippies became yuppies, we see genuine marxist violent revolutionaries implode and turn into identity politics obsessed libtards

The movie is bad and is basically PTA making a block buster of the original Vineland. If you want something more nuanced but that still has the left wing message read the original, if you're a fascist I can't say you'll enjoy it considering the bad guy expressly is, but it doesn't water down the original message of the book which the movie does and makes into a huge migrants vs cops schlock.
