Stephen King says it's good practice to have a goal of writing 6 pages a day. What do you think, anon? Is that doable for you?
>>249512856 pages a day is definitely doable, but as someone who really just started writing after about a decade of not writing anything at all, I think three pages or 3000 words a day is more realistic if you're new or getting back into it. Writers of all kinds will throw around suggested word and page counts, but at the end of the day, what you should really be focusing on is consistency. To do that you should develop a sound enough system that makes it easy for you to stay consistent. Consistently writing 3 manuscript pages a day will finish the book more quickly than someone who writes 10 in a sitting but has no consistency or discipline.
I did that. Completed a manuscript, even. It didn't get picked up anywhere, though.
any consistent daily output on one project is going to get a novel finished
>>24951285Stephen King don’t gotta edit to sell novels.Well I do, so fuck him, and fuck Sanderson too.
>>24951323>I'm adding 1 word to my novella a day, I'll be done once I'm in my eighties
>>24951335You think I give a damn about a Hugo?
>>24951285I write at least 100 pages per day, assuming 4chan posts count.
