For much of my life, I have been attracted to various political ideologies and philosophy, but now I have realized that all forms of idealism lead to failure. From the philosophers of antiquity, such as Plato and Socrates, to Hegel, none of them ever worked and they lived in fantasy worlds. When one cannot accept reality and does not believe in religion, one believes in philosophy and political ideologies, only instead of God they speak of the Übermensch, the world of ideas, the will to power, the spirit, etc. This is why I consider myself a pvre materialist.
No change on any level of human history has ever been the result of 'accepting reality'
the thing about esotericism is that all it implies is that the essence of the doctrine is most likely to be missed by the inattentive reader, as OP demonstrates admirably.
>>24952931>I have realized that all forms of idealism lead to failure.Of course. Humans are not ideal
>>24952931You are just too soulless
>>24952931I, for one, believe that fantasies are far more rich and stimulating than reality. And they can still be experienced, imaginary as they are, but in a Kantain sense. Why should I waste my time on material things that have nothing to do with what I actually crave? To suggest that idealism has entirely failed and given us nothing is to reject all of the benefits of society you experience right now. If nobody ever thought it possible to have more than what they had, we wouldn't have bearly as much. The human world was built by ambitions and ideals, not physical realities. Men planted trees of which they'd never eat the fruits. And what kind of art do you enjoy, if you reject all of idealism because it's deception? What do you even do for fun, if you see no value in anything that goes beyond reality? Your life sounds incredibly dull and stagnant. So much so, and uncommonly so, my curiosity is roused.
>>24952931Don't fall to hedonism though. Ideas and generalities are no more than tools to understand the world, on the same level as habits; but it is not because they make you bored that you should reject them *entirely*. Use them as tools (habits, ideas), and use your senses as tools aswell, strive to be self-conscious, to have self-mastery, keep far away from the mass's main activity to lose themselves, to forget themselves.
ahem
Nietzsche was well aware that the overman was a replacement fir religion.
Have you read Emil Cioran? This is quite literally his perspective on things
>>24952931So you've chosen the dark meat...erm side?
>>24952931You are underage.
The only "philosophy" that works in practice... is freedom. Simply put, no one will look out for your interests as well as you will.
>>24954676Freedom is a vague concept and changes from culture to culture, for a Chinese freedom means being able to start a business, feeling safe, etc.For a Westener, freedom is saying the n word on Twitter while capitalism collapses
>>24954783>capitalism collapseslol
>>24952931>This is why I consider myself a pvre materialist. You are still idealizing.
