Why do they suddenly need so many migrants after decades of encouraging the native population not to breed?

depends on the denomination. there are fundie sects that are Middle Ages-tier fire and brimstone when it comes to nationalism. something nobody likes to admit is the majority of Hitler's support came from the Lutheran population in Germany.

>depends on the denomination
True enough. Ironically though I live in an area where you'd expect there to be a lot of fundamentalists but it mostly manifests in muh civility center-right perspectives. Everybody's desperate for a revival, but between the worship experience slop and the stuffy actual fundamentalists, religion itself needs to be reborn. It's so alienating I might as well become a Satanist.
>nobody likes to admit
Afaik it's more that nobody thinks of WWII-era Germans as anything but either vicious Nazis or helpless bystanders. Nobody has a mental map of what the average Johannes believed or how he engaged with Hitler's modernist-cum-neopagan "positive Christianity."

Tell me of another significant country existing today that has existed since 1800 with continuous leadership, hasn't lost huge chunks of territory since 1800, and hasn't completely rewritten their Constitution at least once.

I for one found anon's post to be a startlingly punchy way to translate the scale and outrage of the Anglo-American hegemon. It juxtaposes well with the contrived nature of the half-hearted rise of American "traditionalism", as the uncontested domination of the United States has come at a cost of real rootedness to value, family, culture (outside of mass consumer culture), as OP remarks. Furthermore, the soul-negative affect of this waif --> >>24962531 is the keystone to an illuminating thread, of which
>>
>>24964590
The best thing you're doing is arguing in semantics which is a very continental European thing to do. You fail to define "real rootedness" and "consumer culture" except in very vague terminology which amounts to esoteric ballgargling. For a place that breeds people like Leo Strauss and Michel Foucault, who have their uses - we burgers are very good at instrumentalism, which is the real supposed value of a given philosophy and not just theory and "because I said so" - even those words have real effect such as how someone like JL Austin supposes (and are not just vague symbols that remain hidden from the general public). So you can stop acting like a candyass and give me the real purpose and meaning of which you're persuading.

>The best thing you're doing is arguing in semantics which is a very continental European thing to do.
The first thing you’re doing is confusing argument with shitposting and the second thing is not knowing what semantics actually is, nor that the American Saul Kripke, progenitor of Kripkean semantics, has had that market cornered for thirty years, much to the chagrin of the Euro-peein’s.
> You fail to define "real rootedness" and "consumer culture" except in very vague terminology which amounts to esoteric ballgargling.
I can define rootedness as an inter-generational responsibility to the land and nation, which is bracketed by strong familial support and resilient tradition. I can steal the Wikipedia definition for consumer culture as “the continuous acquisition of goods and services in ever-increasing quantities“, which is conditioned by mass media and actively undermines that which makes up the rootedness definition earlier through conscious and unconscious social conditioning. I can give an anecdotal example with admittedly poor empirical basis: it’s genuinely treated as a sign of failure if an American young adult fails to uproot their life for the sake of employment opportunity by age 25.
>Instrumentalism, which is the real supposed value of a given philosophy
Why, because you said so? Name your standard partner, this town ain’t big enough for both of our meta-epistemological commitments. I think you’ll be confused to find mine particularly Logos-centric. Admittedly the only Americans of the kind you’re asking for that I’ve read have been Mill, Mann, Peirce, David Lewis and Daniel Dennett—and those last two are anything but instrumental, anything but intuitive.
Your last and greatest mistake was not taking the Norman Rockwell shaped hint that I am also an American.
