Any good books on the Virgin Mary?

You know Mary wasn't a virgin right? It's not even implied she was a virgin (never had sex) in the bible and points out multiple times that jesus had brothers

Good eye. There's no paint on the tilma and also the eyeball has a reflection of Juan Diego and the stars on her robe (I think "mantle" is the preferred but could be wrong) line up with the real constellatoon. You would potentially enjoy studying ancient icons fwiw. There's a lot of symbolism in them that you can meditate on for a long time

These are all Novus Ordo, Vatican 2 theologians. Bad recommendations.

My second recommendation in this thread was to avoid your suggestions. True, you have quantity, but I’ve given quality.

>The Mother of the Saviour: And Our Interior Life - Garrigou Lagrange
Garrigou Lagrange has the distinction of being both the greatest Thomist theologian AND the greatest specialist in Spiritual Theology of the 20th century. This book is fairly popular even among people who are not so much into his other writings.

>The Life of Mary of Nazareth: Reflections of an Exorcist - Gabriele Amorth
While Garrigou Lagrange was a great theologian, Amorth was a master exorcist. He also has a rosary book. One interesting thing about Mary and exorcists is that when they feel the presence of Mary during an exorcism, the presence has an imense effect.

Saint Montfort obviously has the reputation as the greatest mariologist, but I haven't read him yet.

If you want some suggestions about Marian Apparitions, I have some too. I really like Fatima.

>Cardinal Ratzinger already affirmed that the title “Mary, Mediatrix of All Graces” was not clearly grounded in Revelation.
>68. On the other hand, the title “Mediatrix of All Graces” risks presenting Mary as the one who distributes spiritual goods or energies apart from our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, the term “graces,” when seen in reference to Mary’s maternal help at various moments in our lives, can have an acceptable meaning. The plural form expresses all the aids — even material — that the Lord may grant us when he heeds his Mother’s intercession. These helps, in turn, prepare our hearts to open to God’s love. In this way, Mary, as Mother, has a presence in the daily lives of the faithful that is far greater than the closeness any other saint could have.

Just to clear the air: I think your intentions of piety, fidelity to Orthodoxy, and Tradition are radically commendable but we must get through the crucible of obedience. I understand that the current culture of the Church's pastoralism is vagueness and ambiguity but you joining me as a self-seeking disobedient whore after his own thoughts, ends, and mental farting isn't going to help anyone. Was Rahner heretical? It's of course a grim possibility but also the Church doesn't speak on this authoritatively. Heresy is obstinate refusal of the Church's teaching not failing to foresee every single development of Doctrine. Even St. Ligouri had propositions condemned by the Pope. The point is that we shouldn't do word-association purity tests and though it is funny to do this at times, when many Catholic laity do not follow Humanae Vitae, there is still a need for radical obedience and not pretending to be our own bishops. Know of a couple of my prayers. and a happy Advent and Merry Christmas.

You are not Pope Leo and even if you were, we wouldn't be required to like all the books you recommend.

Disagreeing with your recommendations ans thinking Rahner is a terrible theologian doesn't make one disobedient.
