if you don't own this in 2025, you don't love literature.
I've had kindles on and off over the years since they first came out. I find that they suit particular circumstances. For example I had a habit of reading in bed before sleep. They were good for this, easier to hold than a book when laying down. But I think I found the content limiting. When I was researching theology I relied mostly on second hand books. Kindle I also found prone to dropping, resulting in minor scratches that inflamed my OCD at the time. I sometimes use a cheap tablet these days to download PDFs of articles and sometimes books available from archive sites.
You did pick up a compact magnetic 4.3in ereader to clip to your back of your phone, didn't you anon?
>>24966061Why didn't you get a cover for your kindle? The real leather ones are great
>>24966093Yeah the Oasis came with a cover but i think i even dropped that. Also i liked the physical page turn buttons. Idk i think I got bored having to recharge it. That reminds me, i hadn't used it for absolutely ages and it just died. No amount of recharging could awake it
>>24966046Shove your products up your ass, shill
a book and a book light always beats this shit last thing anyone needs is to look at more screens
i got a libra 2 cause i thought the notebook function was cool. turns out you need to buy a $80 stylus for the feature to even work.kobo scamming me makes me feel less bad about pirating billions of books tho
my kobo came with a credit card skimmer and gigabytes of tranny porn
My Kindle died late last year (it stopped being able to hold a charge for long so instead of the battery lasting ~2 weeks it would last like 2 hours max). In the last year I've spent hundreds on physical books as a result, lol.
Buy product Own productcherish personality and status that arises from owning product
>>24966046A Kiddle specifically or an ereader in general?I'll never own a Kiddle, but I do own an ereader.
>>24966302win some lose some
>>24966293You can also buy cheapo off-brand ones and they work the same. It's the standard type if thing you use for digital artfagging. Has buttons and shit, unlike your normal DS or phone/tablet stylus.
>>24966086That's super gay. a) What kind of barbarian doesn't have a case on their phone; and b) Why would I buy one of those when I could just use ReadEra and turn the blue light filter on + adjust the font, colours, and other filters?
>>24966302>>24966368>KoboEnjoy your chinesium garbage that will slow down and stop working in a year or two. Kindle lasts not years but decades. Turn on airplane mode permanently, send books through calibre and you are set for life basically. If anyone new is thinking of getting an ereader do not listen to this retards who fell for the chink meme, get the Kindle.
>>24966640unironically true. i've owned kobo, pocketbook and boox and all of them started lagging after a year of use. then i got kindle basic and its basically same after 3 years of use. kindle just works. i dont use calibre tho, just send to kindle via email service.
>>24966640>>24966646I hate to glaze the Bezos (damnation be upon him) but I do have to confess that my Kindle is from fucking 2011 and still chugging along fine for the job. Battery only lasts some days with airplane mode on and it's obviously not particularly fast, but I've read 20+ books on it now and it's perfectly alright for the job it's meant to do.I really do want to buy a new ereader that is *not* Amazon but damn I don't wanna skimp on quality
>>24966639>ReadEraSimple: I'm not a third-worlder. I heard the cheapest kindle you have in brazil goes for $450usd.
did anyone try this thing out?
>>24966046My friends and I were talking about how collecting is cool and all but when I said I like collecting books the ereaderfag immediately said I'm just wasting money
>>24966046It gives you instant access to nearly every book you've ever wanted to read, which I think is bad for you for reasons I can't articulate quite well.
>>24966293>too retarded to read product description>believes this means he got "scammed"Behold the intelligence of the average /lit/ user.
>>24966896you are
>>24966640I brought a secondhand Kobo Touch this year and borderline impossible to use. It freezes often and sometimes will just cut off the bottom line of text from certain books. For a tech illiterate retard like myself, it's nice being able to easily download books for free but I've been pretty disapointed with its performance so far.
Need to buy a new oneMy old 2020 kindle storage (6gb) is full already. God bless zlib and libgen.
Just jailbroke the Kindle i was given for Christmas last year. What are good sites for Epubs? Already downloaded a bunch from project Gutenberg but looking for more modern stuff.
>>24966640>>24967162Is there any serious risk in just using "send to kindle" to get epubs to the kindle? All the jailbreak and calibre and airplane mode stuff seems like overkill if that works.
>>24967193For me personally, I just like being untethered from Amazon. It also has more customisation options, but I haven't explored much of that yet.
