>>24968307doommaxxing by rereading all of houellebecq's essays and novels
i'm 9/10 on my 2025 reading goal and idk if i should cheat the count by reading some greek play or muscle through anna karenina before new years
>>24968307I'm going to continue my streak of not reading female "authors".
I want to study at least two hours a day, everyday, for the entire year. Replacing my current method of just studying completely at random whenever I feel like it.But it's more /sci/ than /lit/. I will probably need to read more as well though to lengthen my attention span.
>>24968307Learn enough attic greek that I can read Plato
My plans for 2025 include reading and studying old and middle Dutch and literary works written in middle Dutch as barely any old Dutch works exist. Mainly epic poetry like Karel ende Elegast and Van Sente Brendane. On my reading list are also a 1926 Dutch verse translation of the Nibelungenlied, Tolstoj's Anna Karenina and Flaubert's Madame Bovary. This year I also started to seriously study the Bible and I plan to continu that in the new year as well.
I won't pick up another language and will continue to focus on FrenchI will read more English literatureCurrently I read 1 hour of French literature a day and english literature barely anything but I want to aim for 1 hour of French literature and 1 hour of english literature each day, possibly only 30 minutes for english on very busy daysIt's a challenge but I've done it after pulling 12 hour shifts at my minwage manual labour job so maybe it's ok as an aspirational goalEver since I read Soumission by Houellebecq I've been inspired by the protagonist's ideas about the joys of reading an author's corpusI made an attempt of that with Maupassant this year but eventually burned out after reading 9 of his short story collections and I may try to continue it
>>24968880So Stephen King still fits?>>24968307I swear /lit memed me into buying the same edition, but I will start the book during the summer at best. I wont plan anything a year ahead, though hoping that my pace will be at least book a month.
Start writing and keep up my reading rythmn from this year.
>>24968307will reduce my reading goal to 12, which will then be one large book each month ( gr, ij, etc)
>>24968540Same.
>>24968307Stop chewing on my books when I'm bored.
>>24968513I do this automatically
>>24968307I think Im gonna buy this when my next paycheck comesThanks for the idea
